Last weekend, Mari and I took a drive inland to a temple that sits 700 meters up the side of a 900 meter mountain. Both the drive and the temple itself were certainly worth the ever present risk of plummeting to our deaths as we made our way up the narrow winding roads but I don’t think we’ll be returning any time soon. At certain points, we were forced to backtrack to a wider point in the road to allow an oncoming car to pass. In the US, these roads would be considered too dangerous to drive. In Japan however, they’re perfectly acceptable. The Japanese have a funny sense of danger. It certainly was a worthwhile experience however. I’ve posted a few nice pictures from the trip.

Also, for those of you who don’t know, I’ll be back in New York for about a week starting on the 26th of December. If you’re in either East Hampton or Manhattan, please let me know and perhaps we can get together!

With me luck on my test this Sunday! I’ll do my best…
