This past weekend Mari-chan prepared a really nice dinner for me in my apartment. Although it was quite simple, I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. I’ll have to coax her into cooking for me more often…

At the beginning of this month I traveled to a neighboring city to take the annual Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). Although I’m convinced I was trounced by the listening section, I’m hoping that success on the grammar and kanji/vocab sections will save me. Unfortunately, I won’t receive the results until mid-February. Being an entirely electronically graded test, I can’t imagine why it will take so long, but no choice.

I’ll be heading back to the US at the end of the month. I’ll be leaving arriving in New York on the 26th, and will be around until January 4th. For those of you who are around, drop me a line. I would be nice to get together at some point. I’ll be back and forth between East Hampton and the city for the week that I’m home, so I’m certainly willing to meet wherever is most convenient for you. Let me know what you all think!
