I hope you’re all enjoying the balmy weather and getting excited for Ocean Day 2010! If not, here are some photos taken by Jana Matsuuchi of last year’s event.
Although I wasn’t able to attend the event last year, I heard only positive things after the fact. With the addition of tubing done off of Steve’s power boat and the plethora of kayaks available there was quite a selection of activities. For those who attended last year, was there anything particular that you enjoyed? Anything that you’d like to see in future iterations of Ocean Day? Please feel free to leave a comment and tell us your thoughts!
And of course, keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

These pictures do not due justice the beauty of the Long Island East End. I will always remember the salt and the sparkle when going out sailing with Hiroki one year at Ocean Day,and sitting on the beach girl talking while kids splash. And last year the teenagers tried to catch interesting photos as they jumped in the air and fell on the grass! Of course, the food is delicious and Steve always has some wonderful grilled seafood surprise. I hope everyone can come this year. Just don’t forget your sunblock!
I’m glad you had such a good time sailing. It’s hard to believe how many summers ago that was. I’m hoping that in the near future I will be able to purchase another small day sailer and be out on the water again. I’ll be sure to let you know when I do!
